The Piaggio BV Tourer 500 was a single cylinder, four-stroke scooter produced by Piaggio between 2009 and 2012. It could reach a top speed of 99 mph (159 km/h). Max torque was 31.72 ft/lbs (43.0 Nm) @ 5500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 38.09 HP (28.4 KW) @ 7500 RPM.

The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 92.0mm bore x 69.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 492.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).

The bike has a automatic transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, centrifugal, automatic.

It came with a 110/70-16 front tire and a 140/70-14 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic hydraulic forks, 41 mm while the rear was equipped with a two dual effect hydraulic dampers. The BV Tourer 500 was fitted with a 3.46 Gallon (13.10 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 61.02 inches (1550 mm) long.

The first generation Fly was first introduced to North America as a 150cc model. It debuted in the USA for 2005 and in Canada the following year.
